Traders involved in supply chain with Kenya could lose their products if they do not follow Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) requirements for inspection and collection of imports.

This transpired after the KRA announced that imports not complying with processes are to be auctioned off.

The products put up for sale include smartphones, laptops and e-cigarettes.

The revenue authority said the cargo arrived at the airport between June 9 and 13.

"In terms of the East African Community Customs Management Act, 2004, notice is given that unless these goods are entered and removed from the Customs Warehouse within 30 days from the date of this notice, they will be sold by public auction on November 15, 2023," the authority said.

It also compels importers to clear goods within 21 days of arrival.
