Kenya Ports Authority provides deadlines for second container terminal The Kenya Ports Authority has set a deadline of March 2016 for the completion of phase one of the second container terminal. The ground breaking ceremony for the facility took place in December last year. The project involves construction of a new container terminal west of Kipevu Oil Terminal on 100 hectares of reclaimed land and with a capacity to handle 1.2 million TEUs annually when completed. The new terminal will have three berths that measure 230, 320 and 350 metres. The terminal will add 15 million tons of capacity to the port.
