Kencargo adds capacity for perishable season

THE KENCARGO tripartite alliance is planning additional flights to cater for the end-of-the-year perishable export season. Following the announcement that Martinair is likely to introduce a fourth freighter to its Johannesburg-Brussels schedule from November, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has revealed plans to introduce two additional weekly flights between Amsterdam and Johannesburg starting on November 29. This involves a combi Boeing 747-400 aircraft, allowing for a big increase in cargo capacity. The additional flights will leave Amsterdam at 22:00 on Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving at Johannesburg at 9:45 the following day. Northbound flights depart Johannesburg on Friday and Sunday at 23:45.
