Keeping fuel moving

KEVIN MAYHEW FORWARDING AGENT Mitchell Cotts – part of the Super Group – continues to handle a number of products, from fuel going north to vegetables, fruit and flowers coming south. General manager, Lin Botha, says she and her staff maintain their service levels on both sides of the border by retaining an affiliation with Mitchell Cotts in Zimbabwe although it is not part of the group. Within South Africa its services are augmented by the Micor network. “Tanker movement has got a lot better lately, but we still have problems with parking for hazardous tankers. That said we intend to expand our operations as the need arises,” she says. Mitchell Cotts, based at the border post, is the sole Sasol and Caltex agent for the movement of fuel into Africa through Zimbabwe. It employs 35 people.
