Transparency for all players

CAPE TOWN-based software specialist Macro 2000 prides itself on the ability to offer the ‘total solution’, no matter how intricate the client brief.
“That ranges from a total logistics package, to ensuring just in time manufacturing for Mercedes-Benz dashboards, running bills of materials for a car manufacturer or distributing spark plugs, windscreen wipers or tyres,” says Macro 2000 marketing executive Anthea van Breemen.
If you are curious as to how this is achieved, Van Breemen says it is done simply by running various combinations of Macro 2000 software modules.
“Total logistics will track each individual item, ranging from purchase orders through to the consolidation centre or warehouse, the shipment from abroad or local supplier, receiving into the warehouse or to the call off by the manufacturer/supplier.
It is a one stop shop or portal enabling all the different players in the operation to immediately see what is where.”
She explains the Macro distribution software is able to handle bulk warehouse stock for the automotive industry and items such as batteries, tyres and spark plugs for distribution to smaller users.
The goods will be received in bulk into the warehouse and picked by individual item for delivery to shops on a daily basis. Such deliveries need planning according to route and delivery notes, or more commonly PDAs, to be signed and stored for proof of delivery on the Macro system.
“No matter the scenario, Macro 2000 incorporates all the latest technology to enhance a company’s business requirements,” says Van Breemen.
