The International Trade Institute of SA (Itisa) was recently awarded associate membership of the International Association of Trade Training Organisations (Iatto) at the association's 23rd annual congress held in London recently.

The insitute will be eligible for full membership once its training and education programmes have been running for a year.

Itisa co-founder Rose Blatch has joined the Iatto board of directors and continues to chair the Accreditation Working Party. This committee is responsible for the setting of accreditation guidelines for the different Iatto levels, and for the accreditation of international trade training programmes. Blatch's partner Ali Parry is also a member of the committee.

The conference focused on information technology and its applications to the industry. Presentations included systems that helped companies to locate new products or services, and identify those that had become obsolete.

Interactive learning packages that enabled a trainee to structure his own studies were also on display.

Iatto membership is open to any organisation, company or individual involved in international trade training. Further information is available from Itisa.
