Indian budget airline recovers from near-collapse

The Indian cut-price carrier, SpiceJet, appears to have recovered from coming close to collapse last year and is now in the process of deciding between Boeing and Airbus for an order for more than 150 planes before the end of this financial year.

Airwise News reports that, since co-founder Ajay Singh bought back into the airline and acquired a controlling stake, SpiceJet has reported profits in the past three quarters, having made losses in the five preceding quarters.
