The International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC) informed of the correction of its application of 30 April 2025 for the increase in the dollar-based reference price of wheat from U$279/tonne to U$289/tonne, classifiable in tariff subheading 1001.9, and consideration of the implementation of an automatic trigger mechanism for the wheat import tariff, on which comment is due by 06 June 2025.
Given the complexity of the variable tariff formula for wheat and wheat flour, ITAC may consider reviewing other aspects of the methodology.
