On 24 April 2025, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) informed of the revision of the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) in Schedule No.1 Part 1 of the Customs and Excise Act, 1964 (‘Ordinary Customs Duty’), in terms of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the European Union (EU) Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with retrospective effect from 01 September 2024 up to and including 31 December 2024.
