THE IMPROVED infrastructure for handling cargo in Africa and other parts of the world is making it easier and less costly to provide packaging solutions for clients, according to the marketing director of Outsource Packaging, Brett Vaughan.
“Lifting and loading facilities have improved which has an impact on the costs of packaging as it does not have to be designed to tolerate extreme shocks and harsh treatment,” he explained.
Vaughan added that this was a major advantage because much of what was now being transported to Africa in particular was delicate. This includes telecommunication equipment, computers, medical machinery and mining equipment.
Outside of head office in Wadeville, Outsource Packaging is looking to open branches in Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth with Durban being the focal point for the opening of a branch in the port and industrial area.
The company builds specialised packaging for individual consignments.
