Iberia plans to increase frequencies

SPAIN'S NATIONAL carrier Iberia has revealed plans to increase frequencies between Madrid and Johannesburg "in the very near future". Discussions with the Civil Aviation Authorities are set to take place in June. A positive outcome would see Iberia relieving at least some of the current shortage of capacity to Europe. Forty per cent of Iberia's shares have been in the hands of the private sector for the past two years. A public offer for the remainder was made recently. In addition to Johannesburg, Iberia expects to increase frequencies to Mexico, Buenos Aires and Caracas.
