Hydro sets up Brussels headquarters in Europe

A NEW COMPANY, TCC Europe, has been set up in Brussels to operate exclusively as Hydro Air's European headquarters, with Dieter von Mansberg as its managing director. Hydro has appointed ten country GSAs in Europe. Space allocations, yield management and all statutory matters throughout the continent will be handled from the Brussels office. Meanwhile brother Arne von Mansberg has rejoined The Cargo Connection (TCC) in Gauteng and will use his expertise gained with Air Logistics in London, as well as logistics management skills gained in the South African retail sector, to assist in the development of TCC in this country. Since 1994, when the family's senior member Gerd von Mansberg took over the management of TCC, and later bought the company from the Reunert Group, the two juniors have been involved in airline freight operations and have been trained to run a GSA connection, he says. "Now the fruits are ripe, and I am both proud and a happy man, courtesy of two sons," he says. Von Mansberg senior will concentrate on the commercial aspects of Hydro Air as part of the management team, while TCC in South Africa will continue as GSA for both Hydro Air and Egypt Air, also arranging charters
