KEVIN MAYHEW
NORWEGIAN-BASED ro-ro carrier Hual, which launched a bi-monthly South American East Coast/Far East service (SAEC/FE) in March last year, has introduced a regular monthly sailing from Brazil to South Africa.
Load ports in Brazil are Rio Grande, Santos and Paranagua with Durban the local port of discharge and load. All other SA ports will be considered on inducement, operations co-ordinator Leonard Bentley told FTW.
“We are also carrying cargoes from SAEC and SA to Far Eastern destinations other than China, such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan,” he added.
Hual also offers Australia and New Zealand as destinations ex SAEC, with transhipment in Durban.
