Government approves feasibility study on new railway factory complex

The feasibility study into the construction of the greenfield industrial complex and rail factory in Dunnottar, Ekurhuleni has been approved.

This was announced by transport minister, Dipuo Peters yesterday during an Economic Sectors, Employment and Infrastructure Development Cluster (ESEID) media briefing where she pointed out that the complex will house the Gibela Rail Transportation rolling stock manufacturing plant.

According to Peters the factory would produce 580 coaches and was expected to generate about 33 000 direct and indirect jobs.
