THE NEW Good Hope Express will add a second string to its existing service on the Asia – South Africa and East Coast of South America trade lane. The first string, deploying ten 2 500 teu vessels, will call Nagoya, Yokohama, Pusan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Durban, Santos, Itajai, Paranagua, Santos, Singapore, Hong, Nagoya. The second string, to be operated by ten 1700 teu ships, will call Shanghai, Ningbo, Keelung, Yantian, Laem Shabang, Singapore, Buenos Aires, Rio Grande, Santos Sepitiba, Singapore, Hong Kong Shanghai. From June, the second string will run on a fortnightly basis, with full implementation of the two-string combination on a weekly fixed-day basis beginning in mid-August, according to a spokesman for Hamburg Süd which operates the service in partnership with Alianca and NYK Line.
