THE AFRICAN market has
started to grow, confirms
Steve Koch, Latin
America, Africa & Middle
East vice president and
managing director of
General Motors South
Africa.
Speaking at the South
African AutomotiveWeek,
Koch said before 2002
GM had experienced a
flat market in Africa. The
market has since started
to improve, by more than
doubling volumes.
Between 2003 and
2006 Kenya showed
growth of 10.4% and
Egypt 88.9%. South
Africa showed the largest
growth of 118.5%.
The company has 27
markets in Africa with
a 13.8% share of the
market.
