Global logistics company
Tigers is set to launch its
own e-commerce fulfilment
solution in South Africa later
this year.
Managing director for
Tigers in South Africa, Paul
Lawrence, told FTW that
the e-Tigers solution allowed
the company to offer a full or
partial e-commerce capability
to most key global markets:
China, US, Australia and the
European Union.
“The e-Tigers solution is
designed to complement
or replace a customer’s
e-fulfilment capability and
optimise the associated
logistics requirements in
one seamless product,” said
Lawrence.
Mark Gatenby chief
information officer for
Tigers in Hong Kong, said:
“Our customers have used
e-Tigers to quickly expand
into new markets that would
have otherwise taken too
long to reach on their own.
Furthermore we can combine
the B2C ecommerce solution
with a traditional B2B model
and avoid the cost of running
two separate operations.”
Tigers has also entered into a
partnership with supply chain
system provider Gravity, a new
cloud-based multi-platform
system which is designed to
manage all aspects of sourcing,
supply, transport, inventory
and finance activities wherever
in the world they are taking
place.
“This supply chain software
can also help our clients
optimise their finance and
working capital, mitigate the
risks and match demand with
supply,” he said. “Gravity uses
data from current systems
and partners’ systems to
collaboratively manage the
overall relationship.”
