RAY SMUTS NEDERBURG, Germany’s biggest export destination and a market in which the brand has shown uninterrupted growth for five consecutive years, has emerged tops in the 2004 Readers’ Choice list of Weinwirtschaft, that country’s leading wine trade magazine. It marks the second time in a year that the publication has lauded Nederburg as one of South Africa’s best loved names in wine. The endorsement from the German trade comes at a time of growing participation by South African producers in the market which has collectively moved up from ninth to seventh place among wine producers in Germany.
