FUSO Southern Africa is an integral brand of Daimler Trucks & Buses Southern Africa (DTBSA). In 2020, the brand expanded its after-market business with a second brand - FUSO Value Parts (FVP). FVP set the benchmark for high-quality and affordable parts for older FUSO vehicles out of warranty.

Ziyad Gaba, Vice President: Customer Service, Parts and Downstream digs deeper on how FVP continues to add value for customers:

What is the thinking behind this offering?

As a vehicle ages, the customer’s expectations change, they become price-sensitive and look for affordable solutions. With FVP, customers can still fit original equipment parts for profitability and avoid downtime.

What is the value proposition to the customer?

FVP are designed to give the same high quality and safety as FUSO Genuine Parts. Our engineers with longstanding experience design the right part for the most demanding condition of use. In addition, there’s a 24-month unlimited mileage warranty on all FUSO parts, including FUSO Genuine Parts series.

Which parts are included in the FVP range?

In 2021, we further expanded the range to include a broad range of exciting products:

  • Air, oil, and fuel filters
  • Brake linings and brake pads
  • Bulbs
  • Clutch kits
  • Oil seals
  • Radiators
  • V-belts
  • Water pumps
  • Wiper blades

Who is the target market/audience for FVP?

FVP are available across southern Africa on selected FUSO models, and designed for customers with FUSO vehicles out of warranty and those that are price-sensitive and looking for “value for money”.

What are some of the other benefits of the FVP range?

FVP proudly meet OEM quality standards and FUSO Research and Development only releases products after rigorous tests, and these tests are based on genuine parts. The manufacturer of the vehicles knows the common interaction of all components in the vehicle.

How can potential customers find out more about FVP?

Every FUSO dealer has a team of expertly trained technicians and parts specialists to provide advice and support. Customers can also visit the FUSO Trucks website Fuso| Fuso Value Parts (dtbsa.co.za)
