LONG-DISTANCE road hauliers could be forced to implement a fuel surcharge in the light of recent fuel price hikes.
“Those organisations which have already negotiated annual increases in January would, I imagine, have to implement fuel surcharge levies when they reach a stage of no longer being able to subsidise or absorb the added expense,” Malcolm Sodalay of Sammor Investments told FTW.
Should the fuel price hike trend continue, Sodalay feels that most businesses will not be able to sustain the expense and will implement a fuel surcharge.
