FTW reader wins R7 965 training prize

CRAIG MULLEN of Wayne Rubber, Durban is the winner of the grand prize - a free ticket valued at R7965 for Freight Training’s 5-day Export Risk Convention - in FTW’s service excellence competition. He was one of several participants in the contest held earlier this year in which we called on our readers to nominate service providers who had gone the extra mile. Eligibility for the grand prize was not confined to the winning entries, and Mullen, who nominated EGL Global Logistics for the award, is the lucky winner of the grand prize. The 5-day course, presented by Freight Training in conjunction with Standard Bank, will be held in Isando from August 16-20. “We believe it provides the correct mix of both ‘hands-on’ and management issues crucial to the understanding of exports and export risk management,” Freight Training’s Sean Wheeler told FTW. Export contracts, incoterms, packing and protection of cargo, incentive schemes and currency hedging solutions are just a few of the topics covered. It’s the third export convention to be held and according to Wheeler, more than 400 delegates attended last year. “We believe the event is ideally suited to both management and the operations and sales teams of any active export company or any company wishing to enter the export arena.”
