FRENCH LINE CMA CGM has placed an order for eight new vessels from the Samsung shipyard in South Korea to be delivered between April and December 2004. "Each vessel has a capacity of 5 770 6 metre freight containers and a speed of 26 knots," says Roderick Eaton of ISS-Voigt, the Southern African representative of CMA CGM. "The modern design means the vessels will offer shippers excellent reliability and prune precious days off transit times, helping shippers get their goods to market faster for competitive advantage. "
