Freight conference planned next month

SOUTH AFRICAN Ports, Shipping and Freight Convention 2002 will be held at the Durban International Convention Centre on November 27&28 this year. The two-day event will examine a range of topics from port congestion and ship arrest laws to risk management and privatisation. Some fifteen industry leaders representing the National Department of Transport, the National Ports Authority and Mauritius Freeport Authority among others will address delegates, according to Greg Maduray of Johannesburg-based organisers, Trade Conferences International. The event is endorsed by the SA Association of Freight Forwarders and the SA Maritime Safety Association, Maduray said.
