Foreigners snap up Cape wine farms

Ray Smuts FOREIGN INVESTORS are snapping up Cape wine farms as rapidly as uncorking a bottle, the latest conquest being the acclaimed Delaire Vineyards near Stellenbosch for around R30 million. The unnamed owner is a European who intends to develop the growth potential of all aspects of the Delaire operation in order to intensively market its wines in Europe and the US.
