The final approval of the Transnet National
Ports Authority (TNPA) tariff book by the
Ports Regulator (PR) is due to be made
shortly, according to PR CEO Riad Khan.
But, he pointed out to FTW, this is approval
in general – making sure that nothing violates
the previous decisions of the regulator, and
that the numbers are within the stipulated
4.49% approved increase.
However, that approval will not be the
be-all and end-all.
“There is still room for complaints about
specific items in the tariff book,” Khan
added. “People can still bring actions
before the regulator for any points, words or
conditions that they are unhappy about.”
