Far and Middle East hold promise for SA

The company has established a network of local and international agents, providing the global reach that customers demand, he said. “Nearly all of TD Shipping’s clients have been with us since we started, which is a clear indication of the loyalty and trust they place in us. And many new clients were referred to us by existing clients,” says Moodley. Since starting out his career with Watson Shipping in Durban more than three decades ago, Moodley has seen many domestic and international changes in import and export markets. He notes that over the last ten years the Far and Middle East, particularly countries like China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), have become forces to be reckoned with and he believes South Africa has much to offer both the import and export industries. Among the large exporters handled by TD Shipping is a company manufacturing exclusive outdoor furniture for export to the US, Europe, South America, Australia and the Middle East. Regular importers, among others, include a well-known soft drink company and a company specialising in supplying light fittings to the ever-growing South African wholesale and retail industry.
