Delivering cost-effective
solutions focusing on
individual customer
requirements, is the mission
at Transport.com, says MD
Sue Moodley.
“And with our company
centred on a world-class
container freight station
five kilometres from the
busiest container depot
in Africa, and with an
extensive fleet of rigs, we
have developed a complete
local and long-distance
haulage service,” she said.
This includes low-bed
trailers for abnormal
transport, refrigerated
container (reefer) units for
perishable transport as well
as a sidelifter.
“This loads and unloads
containers using a pair of
hydraulic powered cranes
mounted at each end of
the vehicle chassis, is
suitable for travelling long
distance, and often used for
picking up and delivering
shipping containers without
additional equipment to and
from commercial districts,”
she told FTW.
Added to that, Transport.
com also offers facilities
for less-than-containerload
(LCL) shipments;
3 000 sqm of warehouse
space which clients use
as a one-stop-shop to
destuff containers and
load on triaxle or superlinks
destined for various
destinations; and full daily
tracking of the movement
of the fleet on its various
hauls.
The depot is equipped
with a reachstacker,
assisting with pre-stack
of exports and staging of
import containers; and four
forklifts which aid in the
unpacking of containers.
“We have a
comprehensive portfolio,”
Moodley added, “and we
are continuously expanding
our products and services,
offering clients access to
the most advanced methods
of cargo movement.”
