SOUTH AFRICAN Airlink has launched regular courier and light parcel deliveries to areas around Malelane in Mpumalanga following efforts to have the local airfield upgraded. The airline's Jetstream 41 aircraft are now using it after the airport was licensed in 'category four' of the Civil Aviation Authority code. Airlink has spent in excess of R1 million on the upgrading following the decision by owners, Transvaal Sugar Board, not to undertake any further improvements. Since August 1 the airline has operated three weekly return flights from Johannesburg on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
