Exporters to EU and SADC to register

ALAN PEAT THE TAX authorities have demanded that exporters to the European Union (EU) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) have to be specifically registered for exportation to the member countries of those two trade blocs if they want to continue after October 2. According to information released to FTW by customs and trade consultants, Deloitte, the SA Revenue Service (Sars) has requested that exporters register immediately by submitting an Annexure DA 185.4A2 form and marking whether it’s an EU and/or an SADC agreement in the applicable boxes. “The registrations have to be finalised by October 2,” Deloitte added, “otherwise Sars will not issue movement and SADC certificates - which will impact on duty preferences.”
