From page 1 Alphasorb Technologies was the winner in the small manufacturing category. A producer of co-impregnated aluminia-based air purification media, the company has doubled export volumes in the past three years. The prize for Technological Achievement Innovation went to Geratech Zirconium Beneficiation which develops specific zirconium products for niche markets. In the medium manufacturing category MOH-9 Armour Ceramics took the prize, with exports of its ceramic armour protection products increasing exponentially from R4,4 million in 1991 to an expected R44.2 million this year. Combining logistics and horticultural skills provided the winning mix in the export services category for winner Plantwise which has carved a lucrative niche in the export of fully grown trees. Its exports have doubled in value and volume over the last three years.
