On 02 April the South African Revenue Service (Sars) announced that it had requested the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) to add the listed goods to its prohibited and restricted list (P&R list) for purposes of export control. It is not a ban. Traders may apply to the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (Itac) for an export permit, and if granted the goods may be exported.
