THE GLOBAL supply chain management operation, Exel, is to acquire several major operations of Power Packaging Incorporated, a provider of logistics and packaging services. It intends to take over the Power Logistics operations in the US and UK, and has entered into an agreement to purchase the contract manufacturing activities of Power Packaging. Power Logistics and Power Europe have businesses that are similar to Exel's - providing complete distribution centre solutions for big-name food and consumer products manufacturers and retailers.
