The European Union (EU) is seeking to raise about the equivalent of about R4.5 billion to support the recovery of infrastructure in Mozambique, including roads and bridges flooded out at the beginning of the year.

European Commission representative in Mozambique, Sven Kühn von Burgsdorff told online newspaper Canalmoz that all of the funding would be used to repair roads, bridges, health facilities and schools destroyed by bad weather that seriously affected the central and northern areas of the country.
