On 06 June the European Union (EU) called on the World Trade Organisation (WTO) to initiate dispute consultations with the People’s Republic of China (China) concerning certain Chinese measures which the EU alleges are inconsistent with China’s obligations under the WTO’s Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS).
