DP World has reportedly put in a US$700-million order to Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) to supply port technology for the Middle Eastern company's automated container terminal, Jebel Ali, in Dubai.
According to online publication, IHS Maritime, the order is for quay cranes and rail cranes, which are scheduled to be fully delivered by 2018.
DP World’s Jebel Ali is ranked as the world’s ninth largest terminal and is DP World’s flagship.
