THERE IS a strong philosophy of empowerment at BD Sarens, according to business development manager Jean-Claude Kabobole. "Black empowerment is not done only to comply with the laws and regulations of this country," he said, "but far more. We enjoy the benefit of being together." He illustrates this with his own experiences. "I can remember being alone in my previous company, Dynamic Forwarders, in shipping and project logistics in SA and Africa. "It was almost impossible for me to expand my company, because Ð despite a double masters degree in economics and finance - lack of cash flow and no collateral meant I couldnÕt get a bank loan. "Merging with BD Sarens has helped me to go for big projects that I could never have tried for before, and has also helped the company to extend its exposure into Africa."
