Taking care of entire management of consignment MERCATOR, THE IT division of the Emirates Group, is set to transform the way the air cargo industry does business with the launch of Chameleon - its new generation cargo system. The multi-million dollar system, fully owned, designed, developed and implemented by the Dubai-based IT division of the Emirates Group, is already in use within Emirates SkyCargo and Dnata Cargo and is now being offered to airlines and ground handlers around the world. It takes care of the entire management and monitoring of cargo consignments, from the moment a shipment is delivered to the airline or its ground handler, through to the end of the supply chain. “Harnessing the latest technology, it gives them the freedom they need to manage their cargo terminal operations efficiently and profitably, shaking off the ties of yesterday’s out-dated systems and processes,” says senior vice president Dnata Cargo, Jean Pierre De Pauw. “Chameleon blends effortlessly into any environment, from the smallest local operation to the biggest global cargo hub. Flexible and adaptable, it can fit in seamlessly with current business conditions and trends.” It improves service standards by being proactive instead of reactive, actively seeking out potential problems and taking the necessary measures, he added.
