El Al Israel Airlines posted a 54% rise in third-quarter net profit, boosted by higher revenue and by efficiency measures as the company continued to cut its workforce.
Net profit at Israel's flag carrier rose to US$57.9 million from US$37.5m a year earlier, El Al said. Revenue increased 6.2% to US$643.3m - the highest in five years - as passenger revenue grew 6.1% while cargo revenue dipped 0.8%.
