Ecu denies merger rumours

THERE IS no truth in the rumour circulating in the marketplace that Ecu Line and Thrutainers are planning to merge, according to Franky Van Doren, director of sales and marketing at ECU International in Antwerp, Belgium.
"We have been approached by several very loyal customers in the last couple of days," Van Doren told FTW, "questioning us on the merger or take-over that is supposed to take place in the SA market.
"We hereby officially confirm that these rumours are completely unfounded."
Van Doren also confirmed that Ecu Line SA would remain under the existing structure, and that no take-overs or mergers were planned nor in progress involving its SA offices.
