eCommerce takes off in Africa

eCommerce is expanding at a rate of knots in the developing world, spurred by the rapid penetration of smart phones, according to industry commentators. It’s probably not a good time to invest in building new shopping malls across Africa, says Fatima Sullivan, managing director of express parcel specialist SkyNet Worldwide Express. Sullivan says that through their London office they’re dispatching eight containers a day at the moment, from London to their hub in Lagos, packed with goods ordered online for direct delivery to Nigerian customers.
