Regional Air now in the stable EXPRESS AIR Services (EAS) has acquired the general sales agency and cargo handling of Regional Air effective since October 1. This British Airways franchise operates Boeing 737-200 and 300 version aircraft on its eastern and southern African network. Regional Air operates between Johannesburg and Nairobi five days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) with connecting flights to Mombasa, Asmara, Djibouti and Khartoum on selected days. "This ties in perfectly with our African expansion strategy," says EAS marketing director Bruce van Wyk. "Through our southern African network we can link the client's freight through a single pipeline to and from these destinations. 'EAS will be offering a service mix including perishable cargoes, general freight and courier traffic to the industry at very competitive rates."
