Amendments to the Customs and Excise Act - 8 June 2001 The expiry date of provision 460.11/63.09/03.04 for a partial rebate of duty on worn clothing (excluding worn over-coats, car-coats, raincoats, anoraks, ski-jackets, duffel-coats, mantles, parkas and similar clothing articles), classifiable within subheading no. 6309.00.17, is extended to 30 June 2001 with retrospective effect to 31 August 2000. Refund item 531.02/10.05/01.04 for maize entered for home consumption in terms of Schedule No.1 on or after 1 January 1999, but not later than 16 September 1999, provided that the importer is in possession of a specific rebate permit issued in terms of rebate item 460.25 by the Director-General: Agriculture, provided that the Commissioner is satisfied that no previous claims were submitted in respect of such consignments. The extent of the refund is full duty less 10%. Anti-dumping application - 25 May 2001 A notice appeared in respect of a final determination of the investigation into the alleged dumping of aluminium conductor steel reinforced (ASCR) originating in or imported from India and Bahrain and/or the alleged subsidised export of ASCR originating in or imported from India. Readers who are interested in responding to this application should do so by no later than 25 June 2001.
