Amendments to the Customs and Excise Act - 4 May 20001 A provisional anti-dumping duty of 53.74% has been imposed on wooden doors of tariff subheading 4418.20, imported from or originating in Indonesia. The current rate of customs duty is 15% ad valorem. This provisional duty is imposed up to and including 2 November 2001. A correction notice has been published in respect of the substitution in the title to Government Notice. R.332 of 4 April 2001 appearing in the Government Gazette No.22199 for the expression "(No.1/5/32)" of the expression "(No.1/5/33)". Although the intention of this column is to look at the weekly changes in the tariff dispensation and amendments to the rules of the Customs & Excise legislation, it is believed that informing readers of tariff applications and anti-dumping notices as and when they appear might be of value. Accordingly the notices in this respect that appeared in the Government Gazette on 26 April 2001 is captured below. Tariff applications - 26 April 2001 Amendment of rebate item 307.09 for the manufacture of plasticised PVC to include dioctyl orthophthalate (DOP) which is classified under tariff subheading 2917.32. Amendment of rebate item 315.03 for the manufacture of compounded rubber, vulcanised in primary form to include butadiene styrene rubber latex classifiable under tariff subheading 4002.11.90. The withdrawal of rebate items for the manufacture of knitted or crocheted trimmings, knitted or crocheted fabrics of cotton, elasticised fabrics for the manufacture of foundation garments, knitted or crocheted fabrics for the upholstering of furniture, and knitted or crocheted fabrics for the upholstering of furniture. The rebate items in respect of this application: 311.04/60.02/01.00, 311.15/60.02/01.00, 311.25/00.00/01.00, 320.02/60.01/02.00 and 320.02/60.02/02.00. Anti-dumping notice - 26 April 2001 The notice of the initiation of an investigation into the alleged dumping of non-tinted white self-copy paper, originating in or imported from Belgium that was published in the Government Gazette on 2 March 2001 has been extended to include Germany and the United Kingdom.
