Durban office pays dividends for M&B

ANNA COX FORESEEING THE huge potential in the Durban market, M&B Transport Services opened a new branch in Redhill in March this year. According to branch manager Tim Comet, it’s ideally located, close to all amenities, including the harbour. “The company can now offer clients a complete transport solution from Durban and Johannesburg to Swaziland, Botswana and Lesotho,” he said. To accommodate the increase in freight volumes, M&B has acquired four new, speciallydesigned horse and trailers to accommodate every possible load. Branch manager Tim Comet, who has extensive experience in cross border transportation, is more than satisfied with growth so far. “Within three months of operation, the response from Durban-based clients has been overwhelming,” he said. “Cross-border distribution is dependent on efficient service, and the recent national strike by public sector employees was a major challenge in the shipping industry,” he said. With hubs in Swaziland, Johannesburg and now Durban, M&B is strategically ensuring that it has a clear physical presence in the market, he added. “Our aim is to offer clients an exemplary service at competitive rates.” With the growth of the Durban branch, M&B Transport Services will be looking at expanding to Botswana to ensure an overall hassle-free transport solution.
