THE DURBAN ship repair industry has gained from the misfortune of the tanker Nino, which went aground off the Wild Coast on July 18 and was successfully refloated two weeks later. With extensive underwater damage the ship has been towed back to Durban by the tug Wolraad Woltemade to discharge the remaining cargo and will enter the Eldock floating dock where Dormac, Elgin Brown & Hamer and other repair companies will share in one of the largest ship repairs to be undertaken in Durban in recent years.
