Dube TradePort executive suspended

Two CEOs of agencies run by the KwaZulu-Natal provincial government have been suspended for alleged corruption, according to a report on Thursday. Under investigation were Nkululeko Luthuli of the Royal Household Trust and Rohan Persad, chief executive of the Dube TradePort, the Business Day reported. Persad was suspended last week over a cargo handling contract worth R50m a year. Luthuli, who has since resigned, is accused of spending millions of rands belonging to the trust. The Royal Household Trust falls under the executive authority of KwaZulu-Natal Premier Zweli Mkhize, while the Dube TradePort is attached to the Economic Development and Tourism Department. Sapa
