THE DURBAN Container Terminal is taking a tougher stand with regard to trucks carrying flammable material. Effective this month, any trucker calling to collect or deliver a container carrying flammable substances must produce the original certificate or a certified copy of the original before being loaded. This is in line with the City of Durban Fire Department regulations. In terms of the by-laws the terminal is liable for a fine if it loads or discharges a container or flammable substances from a vehicle not certified to carry these substances.
