Danzas acquires Africa major

DANZAS HAS acquired the business and assets of three subsidiaries of logistics major Walford Meadows International in Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe.
The acquisition will enable Danzas to establish company-owned and operated offices in Zambia and Malawi. Walford Meadows' Zimbabwe operation will be merged into the existing Zimbabwe network of Danzas AEI, the Intercontinental Business Unit of Danzas.
The transaction will extend Danzas AEI's reach throughout Africa, broadening our service offerings to Southern Africa's importers and exporters, says Arthur McWilliam Smith, chairman, Danzas AEI South Africa. Zambia and Malawi will be connected to our worldwide LOGIS information system. Trade between African nations has been increasing, and the lowering of trade and tariff barriers should accelerate shipping activity, said McWilliam-Smith. We are also hopeful that the recently enacted US-Africa trade legislation will boost trading between Africa and the United States.
