Demand for warehousing in
Mozambique is growing quickly
as the harbours become busier
and focus more on their core
business, pushing ancillary
services such as warehousing
out of the port, says Damco
Mozambique managing director
Agnaldo Laice.
“For cargo owners and
shippers, efficient warehousing
can help reduce logistics
costs and build up long-term
competitiveness,” says Laice.
“Damco has a sizeable
network of its own and third
party leased warehouses in
most of the major African cargo
gateways,” he says.
“In Mozambique we are
developing warehousing
solutions across the main
ports by investing in facilities,
equipping them with relevant
handling equipment, employing
people with the specialised
skills needed, and installing the
IT platforms required to run
them,” he says.
“Among the facilities
being developed is a flagship
warehouse that will demonstrate
the company’s capabilities,
covering the full spectrum of
warehousing and distribution
services for all types of goods,
including commodities.
“Damco’s flexible
warehousing solutions enable
shippers to respond rapidly to
changes in the market place,”
he says.
