Terminal exceeded targets in
September despite some wind
delays.
A total of 73511 TEUs was
handled against a target of
59 749, while vessel turnaround
time was around 15.6 hours.
The terminal has a target of 30
hours to turn vessels around.
“We experienced wind
delays of 39.5 hours during
September,” said a Transnet
Port Terminals (TPT)
spokesman.
With berth occupancy of
65% the total port turnaround
time for September was 23.1
hours against a target of 40
hours.
The ship working hour rate
was 54 moves per hour (the
target is 55) while the crane
working hour rate was 33
moves (the target is 32).
